My wife almost two year old cat will come and go in the litter box to urinate for two weeks and very little at a time. There was no blood, and not crying, but I took her to the vet anyway. They did x-rays and told me that it is free of stones in the bladder or kidneys, so I thought I had a urinary tract infection. They sent me home with Clavamox and said to give her for 2 weeks, twice a day. She was absolutely fine while she was in it, but I ended a week ago and now for yesterday has been doing it again. Think you could still have an infection? What should I do. Basically … It may take 4 weeks of antibiotics to clear up any cats. If she keeps doing this, she has to be in it any longer. Call your vet and describe what is happening and ask if there is a stronger antibiotic that could be. She may need amoxicillian or azithromyacin.
