Licking dog behavior
My dog has this 'spot' that wants to lick all the time. Basically, I wore shorts a couple of weeks ago and he thought it was good and started licking my right knee and then a little behind him when the leg is flexed. He was there for a good 15 minutes. Anyway, since then, if I'm out there, will try to find the exact spot by grabbing his pants with his teeth and trying to resolve to pull up to get to that point. You can not really do so only licks that location on my pants instead. I do not really care what lame here as it was very therapeutic, but do you think that behavior is harmful and that I should be discouraged or let him lick away. After talking with others on the web, I found the answer. My dog does the same. This is a basic behavior of WC. Your dog thinks of you as part of their package, and a dog they do is help to keep each other. Behind the knee tends to be a sweaty place, and since your dog has learned, he is trying to help keep clean. I do not think it's harmful, but it is annoying (whether you, or if you start doing this to others) you may want to discourage it.

Dogs Behavior Problems
I want to know how you are supposed to correct bad behavior of a puppy. I know lots of people just shout BAD DOG. But that's not very effective. What's a good way to correct bad behavior like an accident in the house, play biting, chewing furniture, etc. ? Thanks for the help. I was so glad to find this — A stern "No." is usually enough to get them to stop momentarily, then show them what you want them to do. For example, if you find the dog peeing in the house, a stern "no." and then immediately take the dog outside to finish. Then treat & praise when the dog finishes outside. If you find them chewing furniture or play biting, "no." and then introduce a toy they can chew on. Sometimes with playing they get overexcited and it's best to just walk away and let them chill out for a couple of minutes, but first try to re-direct their teeth to a toy.

Medical Dog
I am thinking about adopting a dog and people says I have to purchase dogs medical and insurance stuff. Is there really true? If it is, how much does it cost. I was happy to learn… I pay a lot for annual pet expenses for my two dogs. Here's my typical expenses for my two dogs. MONTHLY: food and supplements — $100 (I feed high quality, expensive food though) chews and treats — $30 toys — $3-$30 (depends on how many they destroy that month) YEARLY: physical and vaccines — $ 90 ea. Fecal exam and dewormer — $45 ea. Heartworm test and meds — $100 ea. Teeth exam and cleaning — $250 ea. City dog licenses — $30 ea. ONE TIME COSTS: spay — $265 neuter — $175 microchip — $40 I also foster dogs (usually 2 at a time) but the rescue pays all expenses.
